Yesterday, CNN’s Drew Griffin reported that Donald Trump ended three controversial business deals, including two projects in Brazil that are at the center of a corruption scandal and one in Azerbaijan that has been tied to corrupt government officials and even money laundering for the Iranian military. But Griffin pointed out that the President-elect still has DOZENS of existing foreign projects, including deals with partners who have been under criminal investigation and tied to government corruption.
What did Trump’s attorney have to say about all this? Per Griffin, Trump is still going full steam ahead, with no plans to separate himself from these controversial deals. Unless Trump liquidates his assets and puts the proceeds in a blind trust, his business dealings will pose unprecedented conflicts of interest for his presidency and threaten the national security interests of the country.
